The “Spirit” of Islamic hatred thrives in Toronto

In late December 2014, Toronto once again played host to a gathering called “Reviving the Islamic Spirit” at the Metro Convention Centre.

The conference which features a “knowledge retreat” is widely received in the Islamic community of Canada and has a checkered history.

It is an annual event and throughout the years the organizers have invited a number of speakers who have been denied entry into Canada because of their known associations with terrorist groups.

The most recent conference held but a short week ago allowed Zafar Bangash to showcase his material at this event.  Mr. Bangash represents the main group behind Al Quds day in Toronto, and his publications are full of anti-Semitic, pro-Hezbollah propaganda.

A photograph from his Facebook page (above) shows his Crescent International Newsmagazine. One of his covers depicts Hezbollah tipping the scale of power in the Middle East.

Crescent International publishes the works of a cadre of “anti-Zionist” conspiracy theorists whose focus is the demonization and destruction of the Jewish State.

For a conference that bills itself as a leading promoter of “Islamic knowledge,” one has to wonder: what is this knowledge that is being spread ?

Here is a link to a video where Tarek Fatah, a knowledgeable and outspoken Muslim Canadian thinker, protests the conference:

As 2015 begins, Jew-hatred spreads in Canada

This cartoon appeared on the Facebook page of CJPME – Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East.

Despite the horrendous atrocities reported daily by the media in Syria and Iraq – this group has but one focus ….. Israel.  It seems a bit ridiculous.doesn’t it ?

When people are being murdered, women raped and children sold into slavery. this organization has but one agenda” the demonization of the Israel.

Perhaps they should review their Grade Five geography texts to see that the Middle East consists of more than just the Jewish State.

JDL will be investigating CJPME in depth this year and will be exposing the individuals who comprise this sick organization. We will tell you who its members are, where they live and where they work.

People who promote this sick ideology should not be able to hide behind the anonymity of the internet.

Year end message about Palestine House and more, from JDL Canada

The JDL initiative at Palestine House is starting to resonate through the community.

JDL Canada has been engaged in investigating the activities of the pro-terrorist organization Palestine House and has been reporting the activities of this organization to the authorities on a regular basis.

Palestine House is linked to the terror group Hamas and it’s board members advocate and encourage violence towards Jews in Canada. Our work contributed to the Federal Government’s decision to stop funding this organization with taxpayer’s money.  JDL activities, both on the street and in conjunction with police authorities have encouraged other organizations to follow suit.

JDL Canada is committed to working with the appropriate authorities to force this organization to close its doors and send a message to its supporters that Canada is not fertile ground for their hatred.

The Canadian Initiative for Jewish Affairs (CIJA) noticed our initiative and commented about it in Canadian Jewish News.

More about JDL Canada’s Nov 23 vigil outside Palestine House

On Sunday November 23, 2014, in Mississauga, Ontario,  JDL Canada, once again took the lead in confronting and exposing terrorism in Canada.

The vigil / protest at Palestine House was a major success.  Local police and politicians at all three levels of government have been alerted to the growing threat of terror from Palestine House and their network.

The JDL will continue with our efforts to expose the hate and vitriol emanating from this organization until Palestine House is finally shut down.  Please review the following positive media coverage of the JDL protest at Palestine House:

PLUS: please note, below, the words of the song (translation by that was played via loudspeaker by members of the Palestine House in their attempt to disrupt the JDL demonstration:

Report on JDL Canada’s Nov 23 vigil outside Palestine House (video)

Photo: Mississauga News reports:

A good turnout for the JDL at Palestine House today. They were protesting the glorification of the Har Nof synagogue attackers by that nest of Islamist filth.

Monira Kitmitto, a Palestine House board member, referred to the bloodthirsty murderers, Ghassan and Udai Abu Jamal, as role models.

Palestine House threatens JDL Canada

From Jonathan Hal Levi’s blog:

Dr. Nazih Khatatba, a board member of the Palestine House and an editor of Toronto-based Meshwar newspaper, posted on his Facebook page an implicit threatening message aimed at the Jewish Defence League (JDL Canada) and pro Israel supporters. After mentioning JDL’s planned (memorial) vigil on Sunday (November 23) in front of the Palestine House in Mississauga, Khatatba wrote the following (translated from Arabic): “You are welcome in the Palestine House if you didn’t learn the lesson from [your] last visit.”

The words “last visit” refer to the demonstration and vigil for the three slain Israeli Yeshiva (Jewish religious school) students, that was organized (July 3, 2014) in front of the Palestine House by the Jewish Defence League. Supporters of the Palestine House using wooden sticks attacked the Jewish and non Jewish pro Israel protesters, injuring few, including one who was taken to hospital. Following Police investigation, charges were laid against two of the pro Palestinian attackers.

U of T Graduate Students Union Cries ‘WOLF’ After JDL Disrupts BDS Event at OISE

The Graduate Students Union at U of T got a taste of its own medicine recently, when   members of the Jewish Defence League confronted the Coalition Against Israeli Apartheid at OISE College at the University of Toronto.

As reported in the Jewish Tribute and the U of T student paper, The Varsity, we shut down their event  — using the same tactics they use to disrupt speakers and events that don’t conform to their ideology.

Here’s just one example of the same tactic used worldwide by these haters to shut down any pro-Israel event:

“Video: French activists seize stage at Israel-backed film festival”

The U of T Graduate Students Union then issued a press release complaining about JDL Canada’s actions.

Alumni and donors take note: this is an indication of the declining quality of a post-graduate education at the University of Toronto. It is truly pathetic.

Obviously, these hate-groups can dish it out, but they certainly can’t handle the taste of their own medicine !

The JDL’s retribution campaign to stop alumni from donating to the University is also having a marked effect.  JDL has been able to convince a growing number of donors to divert their donations to more appropriate recipients.

It is estimated that our campaign has already cost the University of Toronto in excess of $100,000.

JDL Canada fears more attacks on Canadian soil by Muslim terrorists

Following last Wednesday’s terror attack in Ottawa, Meir Weinstein, National Director of the Jewish Defence League (JDL) of Canada said he fears we will be seeing more attacks like the one on Parliament Hill.

Weinstein also predicts an increase in requests for security and said, “Our numbers have definitely gone up and we’ve had calls from different cities to establish branches there. A number of people are working on establishing branches in Montreal and Ottawa, while we have requests from Calgary and Vancouver as well.

“We are getting calls…like (last week’s) Challah Bake event in Mississauga for the Shabbat Project. We were asked by Canadian Magen David Adom to come to an event at Beth Emeth (two) weeks ago,” said Weinstein.

Sunday night the JDL was at the Lodzer Centre in Toronto on behalf of the Canada Israel Friendship Association, and tonight, Tuesday, at Beth Tikvah Synagogue for a Stop Sponsoring Hatred event. They only go where they are asked by organizers, unless there is a call for help, as in the case of the recent disruption at the JNF.

“Three shuls asked for our protection for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur: the Sephardic Kehilla Centre, another one in Thornhill and another in North York. The feedback was extremely positive. There was no fee, but there was a donation made to the organization by each of the shuls.

Ever since the High Holidays we’ve been getting calls…from schools to synagogues.
