Al Quds Day Toronto, July 11 2015 at 3pm ET: Status UPDATE

alQudsProtest2015The Sergeant at Arms for Queens Park has stated that Al Quds Day event will not be permitted on Queens Park this year, because no group demonstrations are allowed during the Pan Am Games.

But two years ago the Sergeant of Arms also did not issue a permit, and the Al Quds event went ahead regardless, on the north side of Queens Park with full police support.

The hatefest will go on this year, too, and calls for the murder of Jews from the streets of Toronto will be heard ….. and our Jewish leaders will be silent.

As we have been in previous years, JDL WILL be there to confront these Islamic Nazis — and we are calling on the public to join us.

In 2013, despite not having a permit for the  Al-Quds Day rally in Toronto, Elias Hazineh, a former head of Palestine House, stood in the city park behind the Ontario legislature and threatened Israelis with death if they did not leave Jerusalem and Palestine.

Last year, Syed Mohammad Zaki Baqri, from the Council for Islamic Guidance, called “Yehudi, [Jews]” Israelis and Zionism “inhuman” while pro-Palestinian activist Eva Bartlett said Sderot residents were “sadistic and criminal Zionists.”

This year, the date for Al Quds Day is Saturday July 11 at 3pm.

The Jewish Defence League will have a Shabbaton in downtown Toronto.   We need your support now. Join us to protest yet another demonstration of Jew-hatred in our city.

Barbara Kay: In defence of the Jewish Defence League

From the National Post:

So it is no surprise that Canadian Jewry’s official voice, the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) and its Montreal subsidiary, the Montreal Centre for Jewish Affairs, expressed vigorous opposition to the Jewish Defence League’s launch of their new Montreal branch at a public meeting the evening of Feb 16.  (…)

It was not the official Jewish community that got the infamous Holocaust denier and Judeophobe Ernst Zundel busted and returned to Germany. It was information turned over to Attorney-general Roy McMurtry by the JDL working in collaboration with Holocaust survivor Sabrina Citron that lost Zundel his mailing privileges, and subsequently to charges that stuck. It was not CIJA that got the despicably and overtly anti-Semitic Palestine House in Toronto defunded of their millions in grants; it was the JDL, through information they dug out and passed along to grateful government authorities. It is not CIJA that stands shoulder to shoulder in the streets with Jews protesting Hamas and Hizbollah supporters screaming “Death to Israel”; it is the JDL. It wasn’t CIJA that organized a counter-rally to the 2014  Toronto Al-Quds Day rally, whose members in 2013 had called for the shooting of Jews in Jerusalem; it was the JDL.

And as much as I trust the police to ensure basic law and order in demonstrations like the intimidating Al-Quds rallies, no police officer is going to stand beside me personally to face down the hateful words of anti-Semites in their hundreds. The JDL gives individual Jews the confidence to confront their enemies peacefully The JDL does not look for physical trouble. Their method is to keep watch and alert police to troublemakers. Far from fear-mongering, I call that confidence-mongering. And Jews need confidence, especially young Jews on campus today.

The “Spirit” of Islamic hatred thrives in Toronto

In late December 2014, Toronto once again played host to a gathering called “Reviving the Islamic Spirit” at the Metro Convention Centre.

The conference which features a “knowledge retreat” is widely received in the Islamic community of Canada and has a checkered history.

It is an annual event and throughout the years the organizers have invited a number of speakers who have been denied entry into Canada because of their known associations with terrorist groups.

The most recent conference held but a short week ago allowed Zafar Bangash to showcase his material at this event.  Mr. Bangash represents the main group behind Al Quds day in Toronto, and his publications are full of anti-Semitic, pro-Hezbollah propaganda.

A photograph from his Facebook page (above) shows his Crescent International Newsmagazine. One of his covers depicts Hezbollah tipping the scale of power in the Middle East.

Crescent International publishes the works of a cadre of “anti-Zionist” conspiracy theorists whose focus is the demonization and destruction of the Jewish State.

For a conference that bills itself as a leading promoter of “Islamic knowledge,” one has to wonder: what is this knowledge that is being spread ?

Here is a link to a video where Tarek Fatah, a knowledgeable and outspoken Muslim Canadian thinker, protests the conference:

JDL Canada monitors Canadian Islamic hate sites

JDL Canada is monitoring Canadian Islamic hate websites that call for the murder of Jews and the destruction of Israel.

Here’s the quote from Imam Khomeini, posted at the Canadian “Muslim Perspectives” website:

The destruction of the Zionist regime does not mean the annihilation of the Jewish people in that region. The logic used by Imam Khomeini when he said that Israel should be destroyed is humane logic. We have presented the practical implications of this to the world, and no one could criticize this in a logical way. We said that a referendum should be held among the people living there. The ruling regime there should be determined by a referendum. The people should decide this. This is the meaning of the destruction of the Zionist regime. This is the implication. This is the only solution for this barbaric and wolfish regime….until this regime is destroyed what is the solution… the solution is total armed resistance against this regime. This is the solution.

This website is also instrumental in promoting Al Quds Day in Toronto, the annual hate-fest against Jews that is promoted by the rogue Iranian regime.

The JDL has been monitoring this site and and other similar sites and is working with the authorities to shut them down and have their directors charged with solicitation for terrorism in Canada.

This website and their partners promote themselves as “anti-ISIS”. It should be clearly understood that being “anti-ISIS” in the radical Islamic community does not make you a friend of western democracy. In this case, the enemy of my enemy is definitely not my friend.

JDL Canada to confront pro-Hamas rally at Queen’s Park, Toronto: July 26

The JDL will spend Shabbat in downtown Toronto on Saturday July 26th.

Join us at Queen’s Park at 2:00 pm and confront the supporters of Hamas at the annual Al-Quds Day Rally.

They have but one goal : they want Israel destroyed, because Israel is the shining candle of hope for the world in a very dark, backward neighbourhood.

These Al Quds rallies have been scenes of conflict and aggression in previous years, right here in Toronto:

Each time, JDL Canada has been on hand to record and confront these brazen demonstrations of un-Canadian “values” on our streets.

Once again this year, we will demonstrate to these “Jew-Haters” that civilized people and civilized countries reject the supporters of terrorist groups like Hamas and that we will drive them out of our communities.

Bring Canadian and Israeli flags, along with the flags of other freedom-loving nations, and let us wave them proudly in the face of these sick, deranged people.

Let them know that while they celebrate death, we celebrate life. Together we will shout:

“The light that is Israel will never be extinguished !”

Open Letter to Councillor Sandra Racco, City of Vaughan: Jaffari Centre Concerns

February 27, 2014

Open Letter to Councillor Sandra Racco, City of Vaughan

Re: Thornhill Woods Community Meeting – Lebovic Centre.

I attended the Community Update and Board of Directors Election Meeting on Wednesday February 26, 2014.

During the Q+A, I rose to ask you a question regarding the negative impact on public safety to the existing community which is presented by the proposed Jaffari Centre re-development – a relevant question, which you refused to answer.

Over the past 3 weeks, I have been contacted by many residents of Thornhill Woods who have expressed major concerns about persons from the Jaffari Center blocking driveways and asking residents to use their driveways for overflow parking.  hat was one issue I addressed.

The second issue I asked you about dealt with the anti-Semitic nature of the Jaffari Centre.

You refused to answer my questions.

In refusing to respond, it was suggested that these inquiries were racially motivated and inappropriate.  This is completely untrue, and I consider your response — that as a public official you are limited to issues of “zoning and by-laws”  — to be a deflection of your obligation to properly apprise yourself and understand all the issues that might have a negative impact on the safety and security of our community.

I am deeply concerned that an enlarged Jaffari Centre re-development will lead to a serious increase in antisemitism, and this increase in antisemitism will lead to violence against members of the Jewish community.

Please take the time to review the following information about the Jaffari Center and their associates.

Thank you,

Meir Weinstein
National Director

JDL Canada Uncovers Shocking Truth about ‘Educators’ Running the Extremist Thornhill Jaffari Centre

The Canadian Shiite Jaffari Center is the organization proposing a Muslim-only housing development.

In Houston, Texas on January 30, 2011, the Jaffari Centre’s Pakistani born cleric Syed Hassan Mujtaba Rizvi spoke about how much loyalty — he uses the term “affiliation” — Shiite Muslim believers owe to their country of residence, and the relations between religious belief and citizenship.

Here is an excerpt of Hassan Mujtaba Rizvi’s sermon:

“My affiliations are with Iran, because my affiliation with Canada would mean that if in Canada there was something for me to affiliate by, that was given to me by Allah, I should have affiliation with Canada.

“But when I look towards Allah, and I see that He has affiliation with Iran, has no affiliation with Canada with America, I say: I have affiliation with Iran.”

The Jaffari Centre also promotes another radical Islamic leader named Asad Jafri, who they call an “educator of family values.”

At an Al Quds Day rally in Toronto, Asad Jafri said:

“The Zionist regime that sucks the resources, the blood and everything that belongs to all the people across the world…”

The following is a biography of Asad Jafri courtesy of the Islamic Counterterrorism Institute (ICI).   Read it carefully to learn about the background of the people who are educating the Thornhill Jaffari Centre community about “family values”:

‘Police investigating comments at Al-Quds Day rally’

JDL Canada was on the scene to witness the outrageous activities at the Toronto Al Qud’s rally last weekend.

Blog reports and videos about the rally have created an international sensation.

Today the Canadian Jewish News reports:

Toronto police have launched a hate crimes investigation into comments made by the former head of Palestine House who called for the widespread murder of Israelis.

“We have received a complaint with regards to things said at the Al-Quds Day rally. There is an investigation ongoing,” said Toronto police spokesperson Const. Wendy Drummond.

Police were present at the Aug. 5 rally, held near Queen’s Park, she said, though she declined to say whether the intelligence or hate crimes units were involved, nor who laid the complaint.

Meir Weinstein, head of the Jewish Defense League (JDL), said, “We’ve been in touch with the hate crimes unit. We want charges laid. We want charges laid under the hate crimes law.”

Weinstein, who led a counter-rally attended by about 70 JDL members and supporters, said he was particularly incensed at remarks by Elias Hazineh, the former president of Palestine House, who called for the murder of Israelis.

In a YouTube video posted by the Blazing Catfur blog site, Hazineh says: “We have to give them an ultimatum. You have to leave Jerusalem. You have to leave Palestine.” (…)

Weinstein criticized police for failing to ask protesters to take down their Hezbollah flags. “They were nervous going into the crowd to ask people to take down the flags. They were intimidated.”

Weinstein said police stood by while Hazineh spoke, and Weinstein criticized police for allowing the rally to proceed in a park just north of the legislature after Queen’s Park officials had denied permission to gather on the legislature’s grounds.

Fogel, however, saw it differently. Police, he suggested, were experiencing “a learning curve” when it comes to dealing with radicals displaying Hezbollah flags. They are simply trying to “keep peace, keep two sides apart,” he said.

URGENT UPDATE: Toronto Al Qud’s protest Sat Aug 3 will STILL take place

The anti-Zionists have been DENIED their permit to assemble at Queen’s Park this Saturday, August 3:

Today, the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) received a letter from the Sergeant-at-Arms of the Ontario Legislature confirming that the annual Al-Quds Day protest has been refused a permit to hold its event at Queen’s Park – originally scheduled for this Saturday – for reasons of “public safety”.

However, JDL Canada believes an Al Quds event of some kind will still occur, possibly a demonstration outside the U.S. Consulate on University Avenue.

NOTE — JDL Canada director Meir Weinstein responds as follows:

The JDL protest against the al quds Nazis is still on for Saturday. We will not allow Toronto streets to tolerate Islamic Nazis.

These people comprise two groups. One group supports the Genocide Policies of the Syrian Government and the other side support savages that eat people’s body parts.

These two groups are united in their hatred for the West and Israel. We will oppose the Islamic Nazi march to the US Consulate on University Ave. These two groups are attempting to import to Canada Islamic Extremism. The JDL will continue to lead the fight against these Islamic Nazis.

Contact JDL Canada for more information.
