JDL Canada’s expansion into Montreal makes the news

CBC News:

“You guys have a serious problem,” Meir Weinstein said in an interview, referring to what he called a rise in the number of people and organizations in Montreal that promote religious radicalism.

But the controversial organization’s first expansion outside Toronto will also have a political bent.

“We are very concerned that there are prominent leaders in the Jewish community in Montreal who stand behind the Liberals,” he said.

“We want to change that.”

Weinstein said only the Conservative Party has taken a “strong and proper” position on terrorism and he wants the Jewish community in Montreal “to stand behind the Conservatives.”

Haaretz:

Weinstein, 56, said he planned to have local JDL members aggressively monitor and “infiltrate” radical Islamic groups.

In August, Weinstein, in the wake of some incidents of anti-Semitic vandalism in Montreal, organized a local meeting to gauge interest in reviving the JDL after decades of inactivity.

National Director Meir Weinstein also spoke to CJAD’s Barry Morgan about JDL Canada’s upcoming meeting in Montreal (register here to attend.)

JDL Canada fears more attacks on Canadian soil by Muslim terrorists

Beth-Tikvah-Team-Shot-3-624x416

Following last Wednesday’s terror attack in Ottawa, Meir Weinstein, National Director of the Jewish Defence League (JDL) of Canada said he fears we will be seeing more attacks like the one on Parliament Hill.

Weinstein also predicts an increase in requests for security and said, “Our numbers have definitely gone up and we’ve had calls from different cities to establish branches there. A number of people are working on establishing branches in Montreal and Ottawa, while we have requests from Calgary and Vancouver as well.

“We are getting calls…like (last week’s) Challah Bake event in Mississauga for the Shabbat Project. We were asked by Canadian Magen David Adom to come to an event at Beth Emeth (two) weeks ago,” said Weinstein.

Sunday night the JDL was at the Lodzer Centre in Toronto on behalf of the Canada Israel Friendship Association, and tonight, Tuesday, at Beth Tikvah Synagogue for a Stop Sponsoring Hatred event. They only go where they are asked by organizers, unless there is a call for help, as in the case of the recent disruption at the JNF.

“Three shuls asked for our protection for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur: the Sephardic Kehilla Centre, another one in Thornhill and another in North York. The feedback was extremely positive. There was no fee, but there was a donation made to the organization by each of the shuls.

Ever since the High Holidays we’ve been getting calls…from schools to synagogues.

Jewish Defence League Statement on Terror Attack in Canada

As the leader of the Jewish Defence League of Canada, I would first like to echo some of the words of PM Stephen Harper:

“Today, our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Corporal Nathan Cirillo of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.

“Corporal Cirillo was killed today – murdered in cold blood – as he provided a ceremonial honour guard at Canada’s national war memorial.

“That sacred place that pays tribute to those who gave their lives so that we can live in a free, democratic and safe society.

“Likewise, our thoughts and prayers remain also with the family and friends of Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent, who was killed earlier this week by an ISIL-inspired terrorist.

“Tonight we also pray for the speedy recovery of the others injured in these despicable attacks.”

I would like to add:

There exist many groups in Canada that support Terror Groups from the middle east.  Hamas, Hezbollah and the Muslim Brotherhood have active support bases in Canada.

There exists a number of groups that have charitable status in Canada, which have been listed by the Government of Israel fronts for Hamas.  Many Islamic Centres openly support radical Iran and Hezbollah.

Attempts have been made to mislead police forces with false accusations of ‘islamophobia’.  Muslim Brotherhood groups are active on universities.

And radical left wing groups provide cover for these efforts of recruitment.

The Jewish Defence League will continue to expose and confront these groups.

The Jewish Defence League of Canada  will continue to provide all police agencies in Canada with our information of these threats to national security.

The doors of the Jewish Defence League of Canada will always be open to all concerned Canadian’s to assist our efforts.

And, the Jewish Defence League of Canada will continue to provide security to the Jewish Community of Canada.

Thank You,

Meir Weinstein

A letter from Israel, to JDL Canada

I’ve just received this letter from the daughter of a friend who moved to Tel Aviv about 4 years ago.

It shines a whole new light !

Dearest family and friends abroad,

In light of the horrifying events that have become a reality here in Israel, the growing anti-Semitic rhetoric worldwide and the insufficient and biased coverage abroad I feel compelled to share with you what happened just a few short days ago.

While Israel was aware of some tunnels being built – kibbutzim and communities in the south have been complaining about drilling sounds for ages plus we did know Hamas was digging – no one, not intelligence, not the IDF nor any citizen really was prepared for the discovery of an intricate and well built tunnel system meant for kidnapping and terrorist attacks. We expected poorly dug wormholes with sticks holding up the sides. No one expected to find what the army has uncovered in this operation to restore calm to the south.

Unfortunately, it is time to put all the events of the last few months into perspective – the disintegration of the peace talks, the uniting of Fatah, Hamas and the PA, the escalation of rocket fire, the kidnapping and murder of the three teens in the West Bank, the brutal revenge murder of the Palestinian teen, more escalation, and the eventual ground incursion into the strip. While this country mourned and continues to mourn the death of the teens that lead to this war, it is important to acknowledge that those teens will not be remembered for triggering a war. They will now be remembered as the heroes who saved thousands.

Hamas’ intricate tunnels were part of a bigger plan. Why haven’t they used them before? Why now?

The kidnapping of the teens was not part of their plans. Whoever did it, set in motion a chain of events that has saved Israel the horrors Hamas was planning. The tunnels were a weapon that Hamas was planning to use this Rosh Hashanah to infiltrate Israel with terrorists wearing IDF uniforms. Many of the tunnels discovered were full of hundreds of uniforms and weapons. Their plan was to kidnap as many Israelis as they could in the kibbutzim and communities along the border and massacre everyone else, extending the Gaza border. We still don’t know how deep the tunnels run and how far into Israel they go.

Hamas never claimed responsibility for the kidnapping. Whoever did it, didn’t know what Hamas was planning. Luckily, our enemy isn’t that smart. They began bombarding Israel with rockets when it should have tried to stay quiet if they wanted their massacre plan to work. Their violent escalation of rocket attacks has caused Israel to retaliate and discover their true plans. It is believed that this tunnel attack massacre was also meant to distract from the northern borders so Hezbollah could attack from Lebanon.

If those teens had never been kidnapped, we would be six weeks away from an attack the likes of which this country hasn’t seen since the Yom Kippur war. While we continue to mourn them, we must remember them not as triggers to a war but as the saviours of the south.

It is so important for us as a nation to stay united and maybe even more important for us to stay educated and informed on the facts so we can stand up for our right to live and exist.

To those of you going out to protests and rallies, PLEASE be careful. I have the IDF and an Iron Dome protecting me from rockets but you guys have violent pogroms around every corner with very little protection.

Thinking of all of you and missing you.

Stay informed and be safe…

Jewish Defence League of Canada: Open Letter To Hon. Jason Kenney

To the attention of the Hon. Jason Kenney, MP.:

The Jewish Defence League of Canada has provided the Federal Government for many years with information about many groups in Canada that support Terrorist groups.  On December 23rd, the Federal Court upheld the government’s decision to deny funding to the Canadian Arab Federation (CAF). In his ruling, Justice Russel Zinn stated that “statements and actions…reasonably lead one to the view that CAF appears to support organizations that Canada has declared to be terrorist organizations and which are arguably anti-Semitic.”

Some of the evidence provided stated “The CAF’s vice-president Ali Mullah also attended a conference in Cairo where Hamas and Hezbollah delegates were present”.  The Jewish Defence League of Canada would like to make it clear that this conference was sponsored by the Muslim Brotherhood as reported in May 8, 2007:

“According to conference literature, the main purpose of the gathering, sponsored by the officially banned Muslim Brotherhood and Egyptian opposition parties, was to forge “an international alliance against imperialism and Zionism.”

The Government of Egypt recently listed the Muslim Brotherhood as a Terrorist Group.  The Jewish Defence League of Canada calls on the Government of Canada to also include the Muslim Brotherhood to its list of banned terror groups.

Thank you,

Meir Weinstein
National Director, Jewish Defence League of Canada

Now Is the Time to Stop a Nuclear 9/11 (video)

Via UnitedWithIsrael:

Watch Israel’s Economics Minister Bennett tell the world said that Iran must be stopped from acquiring nuclear weapons at all costs.

“The deal we need will remove Iran’s ability to manufacture nuclear weapons. Iran has over 18,000 centrifuges, and we must dismantle them.”

Talks in Geneva that propose easing sanctions in return for Iran’s ‘promise’ to lower the level of uranium enrichment are a bad idea, Bennett said.

“Iran is under heavy economic pressure. The worst possible result would be an Iranian nuclear weapon that would without doubt find its way to the West. Now is the time stop a nuclear 9/11.”

Two Muslim converts arrested in Canada Day terror plot (video)

Sun News reports:

A man and woman from B.C. have been arrested and charged in a terror plot targeting the BC legislature in Victoria on Canada Day.

RCMP allege John Stewart Nuttall, in his late 30s, and Amanda Marie Korody, in her late 20s, both from Surrey, BC, built explosive devices they planned to detonate at the provincial parliament buildings as part of an attack inspired by al-Qaida ideology. (…)

CMP Assistant Commissioner James Malizia said investigators began monitoring Nuttall and Korody in February based on information provided by the Canadian Security Intelligence Service. They are both Canadian citizens who did not have contact with international terrorists, Malizia said.

Malizia added there was no evidence the pressure-cooker explosives were linked to the Boston Marathon attack, despite similar appearances.

However, a terrorism expert said it’s likely the duo were converts to radical Islam and coached in the alleged plot.

“This idea of self-radicalizing is very interesting,” Simon Fraser University professor Andre Gerolymatos told QMI Agency from Athens, Greece. “Most experts do not believe that an individual could get on the Internet and, following various jihadist websites, become a terrorist.

“It takes more than that. There has to be someone who’s going to take you down this path. Some individual or individuals.”

He added the bombs were designed to kill people and not damage buildings.

These kinds of bombs are what have been used in Afghanistan and Iraq by al-Qaida and by the Taliban.” Gerolymatos said.
